I have taken a second to figure out where I stand on this property. I am the manager so I suppose that makes me responsible for everything on the lot, including the landscaping. My bf and I have compiled a list of things to do before the owners come by tomorrow.
So far we have swept in front of the rooms, deep cleaned two of the rooms, weeded the garden. We are now about to mow the grass and take care of the weed eating. I want there to be a noticeable difference when they show up tomorrow.
Unfortunately I now have weed duty for the mere fact that my bf unearthed a huge ant hill and they were crawling on his hands and all over everything. They are fucking every where. They have been in my house as well, which is a whole another story. But I stated I would finish it. And now I am. Whatever.
Hopefully the owner's eyes will be open to see that I have really tried to change in the past week, but knowing them they will just have something new to complain about.
We will be fully booked this weekend. : )
I got a new review on TripAdvisor:
"I'm responsible for booking all my husbands trips and I depend on the reviews here on Tripadvisor to help me make the best choice for his hotel rooms. He had a job on the outskirts of this town and once I saw the high cost of a hotel room with the others I began pouring over the reviews here for the Motel. I love the statements saying not to judge it by the outside or the mobile home park it shares land with. That information along with everyone saying how clean it was sold me that this was the place to book him. Flash forward weeks later when he arrives at the Motel and I am standing on Vegas BLVD in Las Vegas when my phone rings and it's my husband who says to me, " I'm standing outside this motel in town you've booked me in. Woman, do you have ANY idea where you booked me?" Once I stopped laughing I told him of all the wonderful reviews and to take a look at the room and if he didn't feel is was as good as all the reviews said then I would jump right on finding another place. Well, he did and he stayed. If he ever finds himself back in town for work, he will gladly stay here again!"
Let me just say this ended a lot better then the last very shitty review I got. Thank you..
I am a Motel Manager of a crummy little shit hole in Washington State.
This is my story..
I have seriously considered all aspects of this job from the good to the bad. And somewhere I am left settling with the emptiness of bad. It has never occurred to me how selfish some people are. I accepted this job on the intentions of promise. Jobs are so hard to come by, and this was easy peasy. I started a blog about 2 months ago and decided that my Gmail account had been over taken with too much junk mail. So here I am starting over. Everyone needs to know what goes on in this place. I suppose misery loves company.
Last Tuesday the owner's stop by to "check on me" like they do every single week, either on Tuesday or Thursday. They have continued to pester me about the landscaping, how it is not up to their standards and I am basically doing a shitty job. The wife walks into my house with out prior notice or arrangements and uses my restroom. She proceeds to tell me how dirty my house is and that I need to vacuum. Are you fucking kidding me? You are my boss, not my mom!! That Tuesday they make me cry, That Tuesday I absolutely fucking hate my job.
Little background story here...They are never ever ever positive towards me. They are the kind of people that point out the negative, and then never reinforce with positive. Shitty People.
So what do I do? I do the lawns again. Making sure that every piece of grass is finely shaped and that every piece of grass is under control and precisely mowed. I spray the parking lot down to "clean" it in 75 degree weather, sweep the front porch off, Windex the windows. CLEANED MY FUCKING HOUSE.
And today is Tuesday, another week. They are not stopping by today. But I end up with a parking lot full of leaves and brush from a wind storm last night, the lawn grown back out, and me having a fucking panic attack.
I hate my job.
